Day 35


Yesterday was a jam packed day because we were doing laundry and getting packed back up for another trip out of town as we leave on Tuesday. I have been trying to make up some ground by working out on Saturday and Sunday AND Chad showed up!! I weighed in this morning at 228.0 lbs. It will be tricket to get all these meals in while hunting, but i will try my best. This will be the last post for the rest of the week. Pic is of me, I'm out of here!

day 34


I spent that past couple of days in Indianola, Iowa over Thankgiving. I had permission to have 1 cheat day......so I did. I weighed in this morning at 228.2 lbs, and I am getting ready to go to the gym and then off to church. We leave on Tuesday night for Riley, KS to go deer hunting for the week and Ethan get's to go this year, so I hope I shoot one while he is with me. Well back on the regular eating schedule today!! Day 31




Okay, I know i said that I would be gone for a few days, but I am still here this morning so here is my update. It seems that my weight must be cycling because this morning I weighed in at 227.2 lbs, so I have lost most of that weight I gained and I once again feel better as I was feeling real frumpy. Bobby said that my body will go through these cycles, but I needed to stay the course. last night Ethan and I went to the "Christmas in the Sky", and the rest of the family stayed home because Nolan fell asleep at 5:30 and Job didn't want to go, so mom stayed home with them. This event is fireworks at Longview Lake and it is coordinated with music that you listen to on the radio, and this radio station puts it on every year and this was the 13th year they have done this. I included a pic form the grand finale and another pic was of Ethan trying to be cool while we were waiting.

Day 30

Yesterday was legs day...yuck, and Chad missed the workout....how conveinent. I was real busy at work and today will be another real busy day. I will be in and out of town for the next 10 days between Thanksgiving and a hunting trip over in Kansas, so I will be missing a lot of post, but I will try to take pic's and pot them when I return. I weighed in this morning at 228.6 lbs.

Day 29


Yesterday was the Chest/Shoulder workout and I was able to show Chad how to "properly" do the workout and he agreed that it was an ass kicker. I also had a good day at work and picked up a couple of loans which is real nice before the Thanksgiving break. Bobby had some kind of family emergency and can't make our meeting/workout today, so I guess I wait another week to get the measurements. I weighed in this morning at 229.8 lbs, and there is something going on here because I have gained 4 lbs in the past 3 days and there has been no diet change, so I need to find out if this is good or not. In today's picture you can see Nolan doing his Grandpa Mills impression!!

Day 26


Yesterday I got into the gym and worked out shoulders, and I notice that I am able to continue to get done quicker with these workouts which is good. I also was able to get the back yard cleaned up and burn a bunch of sticks and trash AND I folded and put away 8 loads of laundry with Rhonda. I weighed in this morning at 227.2 lbs, which seems kind of odd to have that sudden jump, so we will see what I weigh tomorrow. The picture is from back on 9/2/09 when I took Rhonda and Ethan out for Mexican for their birthday. i just love the look on rhonda's face in this pic!

Day 25


Yesterday was the arms workout, so biceps and triceps, and then right after that I had to rush to meet with Jeff so we could do our weekly bible study together. Yesterday was a slow day at work so I was able to break out a little early and come home for our family night. We bought the Transformers 2 movie and watched it, and it was pretty good. Let me tell you what my family did right in front of me last night.... they ate the following: Cheeseburgers, mashed potato's, mac N cheese, popcorn, snickers candy bars, AND Chips and salsa. I think they hate me. Weighed in this morning at 225.0 lbs. This picture is of the swimming hole at the creek behind out house, it is such a cool picture I wanted to post it again. The fall makes it look very Norman Rockwell'ish.

Yesterday was my day off from working out, so Job and I took bear for a walk down to the Crawfish Creek so here are some pic's. Day 23







Yesterday was back day and that always takes soooo long to do, so Chad I have decided to get into the gym early on back day. I also has the KCRAR (kansas City association of realtors) Bowling benefit and you will see the pictures from the event. I once again resisted the beer, burgers, chips, pizza, cookies, tacos, and mashed potato's.....as you can see I noticed all of it on the buffet they had.....just drank water, BUT, I did have a good time. Today is my day off of working out, so I will enjoy the morning at home, and I think that Job and I will take Bear for a walk here in a little bit. I weighed this morning at 224.8 lbs.

Day 22











Yesterday I got my first real workout with Bobby and it was nice to be able to learn proper technique on the Chest/Shoulder workout, it was a lot harder than what I was doing. We are going to workout again next Tuesday and do LEGS!!








I weighed in this morning at 226.2 lbs. These pic's were taken to show you what my mornings at 4:30 look like, as you can see the cats really don't give a crap, but at least the dog acknowledges me.

Day 21

Yesterday I had to switch up the workout a little bit and do legs because Bobby and I are working out together today and doing chest/shoulders. Sorry about no pic's, I just have not been feeling like taking pictures, but that will change and I will get some new pictures. Today will be interesting to see if I have been doing things correctly or not. I will also have the Keller Williams Real Estate Thanksgiving party, so I will go and see if there is anything I can eat, either way way it will be nice seeing a bunch of my realtors. I also have two loans closing today (at the same time), so I will need to somehow clone myself.

I weighed in this morning at 224.6 lbs. Measurements next Tuesday, so I will see if this weight gain in muscle!!

Day19







Yesterday I got quite a workout.....I went for an 8 mile Mountain bike ride with a couple of friends and MAN what a workout! Just so you know, 8 miles on a tough mountain bike trail is like riding 100 miles on the highway, it is just a hard 8 miles, and when we got done I had gone about as far as I was going to go, so I was real glad to see the car! After the bike ride I went to the gym with Chad and worked out shoulders, so I was really wiped out when it was all said and done. I know that I said I was going to post some pic's from the bike ride.......but I forgot to take pictures.........this is a common problem of mine (forgetting to take pic's). Sorry, but here is a couple of pic's. One is a pic Rhonda took right before I left to go biking, and the other is a picture of the boys at Comedy City. There was a birthday party for one of the neighborhood parents and all the adults and kids went to Comedy City where they do improv, and I guess the boys got to go on stage at one point!! I stayed home with Hammerhead and we watched a movie and he had popcord and a soda, so we did a little alone time.






Weighed in this morning at 224.4 lbs....I could have sworn I would have lost some weight due to all the crap I did yesterday.

Day18


Yesterday was Biceps and triceps, and man did it feel like my arms were going to explode!! Chad felt the same way. I resisted the Happy Hour drinks after work, and I even went and had a water, our office was kind of celebrating because work has been real good lately and I (we) have been closing a lot of loans.


Today I am going to go mountain biking with Eric Andrews over in Lawrence, so I will try to get a lot of pic's and post them. After the bike ride I will come back to workout at the gym and then it is family movie night at the Tinkham's tongiht. Weighed in this morning at 224.2 lbs, there seems to be a pattern here. The pic was taken by Rhonda right before I left for the gym yesterday morningm and I am sporting a new haircut.

Day 18

Sorry gang, but no pictures and really no update today because yesterday was one of my days off, so that was nice staying home with the family in the morning. I was able to take the dog "Bear" for a walk and Ethan came with me, so that was real nice being able to spend some along time with Ethan.

Day 17




I just made to the statement to Rhonda, "I think that I can see myself continuing to eat Oatmeal after all this is said and done", and that seems real weird since that was the thing that made me the sickest when this thing first started!! My legs are sore once again from Tuesday's leg workout and it makes it hard to sit down.




Last night we had a realtor function with appetizers and drinks, and man it all looked so good, but I was a good boy and just drank my water and then came home to eat. It's not as hard when you have a goal in mind. I weighed in this morning at 224.2 lbs, so some weight gain there. I feel leaner and I think that I look leaner, but the tape measure and the fat calibrator will tell the truth in 2 weeks.




This mornings pic's are one of "BOB", "BIG BOB" at the gym and he is just a buddy that I get some good advice from, and he is a former body building guy (too old now), and the other pic I called "the morning crew" because it is Ethan and Rhonda who most days get up early with me (see coffee in front on them both)

Day 16


Yesterday I met with Bobby and we just went over the diet/exercise program, and I found out we are going to workout together next Tuesday doing Chest/shoulders. That ought to be interesting since he said he will be showing me the right way to workout so I "feel" it. I also found out on the 24th we will meet again to go through all the measurements again and he will be changing my workout routine and my diet, adding a 7th meal to the day. Day 15


It was another Monday.......things are going as planned I guess, nothing to report really because the diet is going good, I am getting hungry before the meals and I am looking forward to the meals and another weird thing is that eating these bland no salt, no sugar type meals are not so bad. The workout are getting easier too and I am able to keep the resting periods to under 1 minute and not feel like I am dying.


I meet with Bobby today and we will do an evaluation, so I will let you know what he says when I update tomorrow. Here is a pic I took at the gym and YES I did it myself because my workout partner Chad flaked on me and didn't show up. Weighed in this morning at 223.4 lbs.

Day 14











I spent the weekend with the boys at my folks and had a nice relaxing time. This weekend was our gift to mama to get out of her hair for a couple of days and let her relax.








Anyway, I was able to stick to the diet and stayed on track. I meet with Bobby tomorrow and we do our checkin, so I will see what he thinks of my progress and I will let post it on Wednesday. Here are some pic's from the weekend








Weighed in at 222.2 this morning, and I must say that I "feel" leaner, so we will see.

Day 11




Yesterday was Biceps and triceps, here are a couple of pic's of Chad and I during the workout. I weighed in this morning at 222.6 lbs, so there continues to be weight gain, I just need to trust that it is muscle weight and as Bobby says "let him be my eyes" because I cannot see what he sees when it comes to progress.




I have officially made the choice to stop eating brocolli and replace it with spinich because I cannot handle the bloated gassy feeling all day long (sorry, had to say it).

Day 10








Yesterday was a pretty low key day. I did get to train with Bobby for a little bit and got a picture with him (see pic). I felt more hungry throughout the day, but at the end I felt VERY stuffed. Today is Biceps and Triceps!! Finally a little fun at the gym! Weighed in this morning at 221.8 lbs, not quite a 2 lbs gain.








Day 9
















Yesterday I got my first "real" legs workout in, and I can say that it was the toughest to date. The eatin thing is getting easier, but still real tuff to choke down all of it. Dropped more weight and down to 220.2 this morning and when I woke up I was starving, so I can say that my metabolism is really starting to crank up! Here are some random pic's, I have a shot of all the pills and powders that I am taking (supplements), and there is a shot of Chad (workout partner) and I doing calves. Lastly I have some shots of me after 1 week with Bobby. I will try and get a picture of Bobby and I today so I can post it tomorrow.

Day 8


Yesterday I met with Bobby and we went over the diet/workout plan.....WOW!! Here is the plan:


1)I have to workout twice as much, twice as hard in about 75% of the time that I was working out in!! As Bobby says, I must think of training as a "Sprint" and there is no room for resting......it's a bitch.


2) I thought I had bumped up my eating to twice the amount I had been eating.........WRONG!! Because of respect to Bobby I cannot tell you exactly what I am eating, but here is the snapshot. I am eating 6 meals per day for a total of 3,222 Calories, 76 Grams of Fat, 325 Grams of Carbs, 307 Grams of Protein....in a nutshell it is A LOT!!


I felt like puking for most of the day yesterday, no joke. I know that my body needs to adjust to the new way of life, because Bobby says that it needs to know that there is plenty of energy coming from the complex carbs and protein so that my body will start burning fat reserves and packing on muscle. Here is the irony....I weighed in this morning at 222.2, so yeah, that means I lost 4 lbs yesterday, although I know most of it was from the water retention from the adult beverages from the weekend (can't do that anymore). Here is a pic of what my 2nd breakfast looks like!! (8 eggs, and 1 cup of cooked old fashioned oatmeal)

Day 7

Not much today as Sunday is a day off. I ate like a pig, watched a horrible NASCAR Race at Talladega, and weighed in this morning at 226.6 (WOW), although I know it is all water retention from too much fun this weekend and a losse diet. I will be back down in a couple of days. Gotta run I have my meeting with Bobby and I am running late!!

Day 6


Went to the gym yesterday morning, did a little training. Found out that I don't have to get naked to get that spray on tan, and that made me feel a little bit better.


Yesterday was the Halloween party and really my last night to party it up for 6 months. Here is a pic! Rhonda looked awesome!!
